The best dress-up box EVER

When Meelyn and Aisling were little, they had a huge trunk full of dress-up clothes in their playroom full of fairy wings and junky jewelry and hats and frocks and high-heeled shoes that my mom and I collected from different re-sale shops. Because you know all those bridesmaid's dresses you furtively bundled into the trunk of the car and took to Goodwill, hoping that no one would see you and realize that you'd actually WORN those awful things? It turns out that little girls think those are the most awesome dresses, ever. Here's Aisling posing in a wreath of flowers that looks kind of Midsummer Night's Dream-y to me.

Maureen, Rachel, Beck and Kathleen posing in costumes from various plays and eras. I wish you could have heard all the giggling and screams of delight and cries of "Take my picture! Take my picture!" as the girls all delved through the racks of clothing.

Gina, whose personality is less like a goofy court jester's than just about anyone I know, dressed like one. So very cute!

My husband in a puffy Renaissance style hat.

Meelyn in a queenly garment combined with a hat that looked like a bizarre combination of Audrey Hepburn and Goodwife Prudence Bradford.

I don't know, but I'm thinking A & M look great in those...very fetching! My favorite clothes to dress up in when I was a child were a nun outfit and a pioneer woman outfit...what the hell was I thinking??? LOL.
