Today is my husband's day off, and he found out the hard way, as perhaps some of you hsve who had piles of snow heaped upon your house, yard, cars, driveway and sidewalks overnight, that it is once again that time of year when you can spend hours shoveling, only to have the city snowplows trundle past and with one quick scrape of the blade, completely wipe out the two hours of work you just completed in one thirty second maneuver.
The only thing that kept this ordinarily patient and long-suffering man from shaking his fist and shouting cuss words into the crisp, cold air in the snowplow's wake was the thought of what Santa might leave in his Christmas stocking. Or at least that's the way I heard it.
